Laura is studying at American University. She is majoring in international relations and receiving a minor in health promotion. She is from Lincoln, Massachusetts.
Leslie Sale
Program Officer
Leslie is originally from Richmond, Virginia and a graduate of James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA. She completed her B.A. in International Affairs in 2009 but decided to continue with her scholastic career. Leslie began graduate school at Boston University in the Fall of 2009 in pursuit of her PhD in Political Science. Alongside her passion for school and politics, Leslie has a regional interest in Sub-Saharan Africa. As a complement to her academic goals, Leslie joined the Axis of Hope team in Summer of 2010.
Marc Kessler

Marc Kessler is currently a high school student attending Noble and Greenough School in Dedham, Massachusetts, going into his junior year. Marc resides in Newton, MA. He enjoys playing sports such as lacrosse and basketball for Nobles as well as other outside teams. Some of Marc’s interests include hanging out with friends, sports, and traveling.
Richy Mummolo

Richard is entering his senior year at the Belmont Hill School in Belmont, MA. His hobbies include writing, sailing, pogo-sticking and playing with his dog Sierra. He currently resides in Winchester, MA. His favorite academic subjects include Spanish and English.
Tom Sommers

Tom Sommers is a rising Senior at the Belmont Hill School, where he participates in cross country running, cross country skiing, and crew, as well as other extracurriculars such as piano and photography. He resides in Wayland, Massachusetts. He also participated in the 2011 trip to Rwanda with Axis of Hope.
Zach Kelly

Zachary Kelly is originally from Scituate, Massachusetts though he now resides in Arlington, MA. Zach is a rising junior at the Belmont Hill School where he plays soccer, squash and track. He is proficient in Mandarin Chinese and enjoys playing guitar and writing.
