Axis of Hope and Middle Schools

At Axis of Hope, we firmly believe that the road to peaceful conflict resolution and preventive diplomacy begins in childhood education.

In order to cultivate well-rounded and informed 21st century global citizens, it is necessary to act early in the students' educational experience.

Using the case-study approach in middle school workshops, Axis of Hope introduces young students to the international diplomacy process and imparts the necessary tools to work through issues of conflict in their own lives (bullying, etc.).

Middle School Learning Objectives

  • To give young students the necessary tools to work out interpersonal conflict in their everyday lives
  • To introduce young students in an academic manner to areas and conflicts around the world which they may not be exposed to in middle school
  • To instil ideas of "preventive diplomacy" and peacemaking at a young age, when they have the best chance to take root
  • To prepare students for the increasingly globalized world of the 21st century

"The students of that class emerge not only as informed global citizens, but as trained thinkers and therefore better prepared to contribute to their respective societies."
